Nearly a decade after the disappearance of his mother, Marty Hartwell returns to his home in the Carolinas. Along with his loving girlfriend, Liz, he goes to meet with his estranged father. He learns that his father has become a recluse; he is too afraid to step outside of his house. What is he afraid of? What really happened to Mother Hartwell? And does evil lurk in the depths of the marsh?
